Pair of Marquetry Cabinets with Ormolu Bronze Mounts, French Late 19th Century
These beautifully crafted transitional two door cabinets are a handsome addition to any interior setting. Elegant foliate motif marquetry is featured throughout and is an exquisite example of the technique. The pair feature a combination of the decorative elements of the Louis XV style and cleaner lines that define Neoclassicism and the Louis XVI style. Cabriole legs are decorated with ornate foliate ormolu bronze mounts. The cabinet doors and side panels and single drawer feature simple ormolu bronze outlining while the keyholes feature opulent bronze bows and ribbon. Both feature striking breche d'alep marble tops in shades of pink, beige and brown.
